Editor's notes



Professor Hossein Aghabozorg was a distinguished Iranian Inorganic Chemist and Crystallographer who had numerous publications in inorganic chemistry. He was born in 1948 and obtained B.S. degree in pure chemistry in 1972 and M.Sc. in inorganic chemistry in 1975 from University of Tehran. He was holding Ph.D from University of Florida in 1981. He spent two years at University of Florida and Mercer University as a postdoctoral fellow and an Assistant Professor, respectively. He started working in Tarbiat Moallem University of Tehran as an Assistant Professor in 1984. He prompted to Associate Professor in 1990 and full Professor in 1995. He supervised more than 100 M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. He published more than 250 articles in international and national journals, including 12 regular articles and 3 review papers in Journal of the Iranian Chemical Society, and 28 books in the field of inorganic chemistry. Professor Aghabozorg was member of Editorial Board of some scientific journals, including Iranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering and Iranian Journal of Crystallography and Mineralogy. He had a nice personality, well liked by Iranian chemists and students and was always willing to help. Unfortunately, Professor Aghabozorg passed away on March 06, 2011. His death is a fathomless loss to his family, friends, colleagues students and Iranian chemists.
