Editor's notes
We are highly pleased to publish the first issue of the 6th volume of the Journal of the Iranian Chemical Society, JICS.
Two years ago, JICS celebrated its first inclusion in the Journal Citation Reports, JCR, with an expressive impact factor (IF) of 0.64, and in year 2007, the IF was surprisingly doubled to 1.39. Now we are proud to announce that we are expecting an IF of over 2 for year 2008, which will positions JICS as the main scientific interdisciplinary chemistry journal not only in our region but also in great Asia.
In the last year, the number of submitted papers for publication was over 400 and the percentage of papers from abroad was over 50%, which proves the international character of JICS. About 30% of the submitted papers were accepted and published in the Journal. The main mission and commitment of JICS is publishing the results of high quality research, independently of the fact that those research results were produced in Iran or abroad.
We sincerely thank all the authors for their contributions and the referees for their kind cooperation, and looking forward to receiving your valuable review and research papers describing novel results in all areas of chemical sciences.
Sincerely
Mojtaba Shamsipur
Editor-in-Chief
