Editor's notes

Welcome to issue 1 of Journal of the Iranian Chemical Society (JICS), 2007. The first issue of the year is a good time to bring your attention to the advancements made in 2006. In the last year, the Journal has seen a very significant increase in research results submitted that has resulted in over doubling of manuscripts received, as it compared with year 2005.

Our rejection rate in 2006 was about 60%, indicating a continuing strengthening of the quality of the accepted papers.

This good news and "embarrassment of riches" has resulted in very rapid citation of the Journal by international scientific information centers including Chemical Abstracts, Thomson ISI products (Web of Science), Elsevier Bibliographic Databases (SCOPUS), �
